Here’s a list of the questions we hear our patients asking the most.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We would be happy to hear from you!

How often do I need to come see you?

Orthodontic treatment is more efficient and convenient than ever before. Most of our patients in braces come to see us every 6 to 8 weeks and aligner patients typically come in every 10-12 weeks. In our office, treatment is customized for each patient so appointment intervals may vary according to the situation.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

Our average comprehensive orthodontic patient is in treatment for approximately 18-24 months. The length of time spent in treatment depends on the age of the patient, the severity of the problem, the patient’s cooperation, and the degree of movement possible.

Am I too old for Orthodontics?

Of course not! While adult teeth sometimes move a little slower than children’s teeth, you are never too old to benefit from bite correction orthodontics. In fact, almost 40% of our practice is devoted to adult care. We have several patients in their 70’s and even 80’s!

At what age should I bring my child to see you?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child be evaluated at or before age 7. Early detection of some orthodontic problems is important in order to take early corrective action and avoid more difficult treatment later.

Do you treat TMD and TMJ?

Yes. We are well-known for this as Dr. Moran has extensive post-graduate training in the diagnosis and treatment of painful and functional problems associated with TMJ or TMD. Please see our section on splint therapy for more details.
